Session Sneak Peak: Feeding

Are you ready to get a sneak peek into exactly what my sessions look like?
I’ve finally figured out a way to answer one of the most frequent questions I get...“can you share more treatment ideas?” but I’m answering it in a way that feels right for me - and fun! Introducing: Session Sneak Peek

These posts will be dedicated to sharing exactly what one of my treatment sessions look like. These are not meant to be “treatment ideas” as in you go try exactly what I tried because we know that every child is different and what works for me, may not work for you.

The purpose of these posts is really to just give you an idea of how my brain works during sessions and what the process of clinical reasoning looks like in action. The posts will also show you just how different my sessions can look so there won’t be a specific format.

I’m really excited that I’ve finally figured out a way to share this with you all and I’m open to feedback so feel free to let me know if this was helpful or what you’d like to see included next time.

note: name, demographics, and some details have been changed to respect the identity of the families but I’ll always include age and diagnosis for context.

In today’s post, I walk you through who my friend (“A”) is and what goals we’re working on. I share what I observed, what we tried, how it went, and how I incorporated coaching/parent education.

This ended up being a huge success story. Because guess what!? One month later and the spoon throwing completely stopped and instead A hands the spoon to parent for more *and* our friend now LOVES handing objects to parent when asked #success
